John Herbert Company was founded by Herbert Sandler and business partner “John” in 1954. After a short lived partnership selling office equipment, typewriters, etc., the company transitioned into office furniture/design and was the Hudson Valley’s leading Steelcase dealer for many years. In 1987, following the financial markets crash, Steelcase & Mr. Sandler parted ways, opening the door for a more diversified product offering. This was the beginning of the company’s renewed future, as it grew and gained momentum in the commercial flooring market. Today, John Herbert Company sells all types of soft and hard surface flooring products, primarily to commercial/industrial clients. In addition, the company owns and operates concrete resurfacing/leveling equipment, to insure that installation prep requirements are strictly met, on time and within budget.

With our top of the line concrete floor grinders, we are able to resurface most floors in a timely and cost efficient manner. Along with concrete resurfacing, we also offer concrete toppings (ie:Self Leveling Concrete). Our concrete pump is capable of pouring large areas over long distances on an upwards of about 3-4 floors.
Our team is equipped with all the necessary tools to remove most flooring types. Our floor removal machine is easily manueverable in most situations and outputs no emissions, leaving you nothing to monitor or ventilate.
